When fire combusts the explosion will always blow away from the source of ignition. When working with products that produce flammable vapors it is necessary to be secure that all ignition sources are eliminated. Ignition sources may include sparks from electrical equipment (welding or cutting tools), open flames(from heating equipment), or maybe even smoking materials(so next time you light a up a cigarette think about the flammable vapors that may be in the air).

When it comes to flammable substances it is not actually the liquid that burns but the vapor from the liquid.
Under the circumstances of a flammable vapor catching on fire, water should not be used to put out the fire because it may only cause the fire to spread. When dealing with a small fire caused by flammable vapors is to smother the fire by a towel, or a class B fire extinguisher, flour, or a lid of some kind.

If you are dealing with a fire and don't know what to do quit playing around on the computer and go call 9-1-1!!! NOW!!!!
